Will joined the staff of SEU in July 1998 as Director of Psychological Services. He comes to SEU with broad experience as a psychologist and as an administrator/supervisor of mental health services. He is licensed as a Psychologist in Texas, and is certified as a Health Service Provider. As a psychologist he has provided clinical services to several thousand clients in a variety of settings such as university counseling center, community mental health, private and public hospitals, and private practice. He has taught parttime at McLennan Community College and Baylor University in Waco, TX, Penn State University in Harrisburg, PA, and at SEU. He has particular interests in psychological aspects of chronic medical conditions, addictions, adapting to disabling injuries, and recovery from traumatic circumstances. He also has been active in civil rights for minority groups and received a major commendation from the Veterans Administration for his advocacy efforts in securing employment and promotion opportunities for persons with handicaps.
Will has both a personal and professional interest in how mental health and spiritual/religious experience can enhance persons' quality of life. Among his endeavors, his most satisfying professional accomplishment was establishing and directing an APA accredited predoctoral internship in psychology that incorporates the spiritual/moral/religious as part of clinical training. He sees SEU as an exceptional opportunity to be part of a community where individuals are encouraged to explore and develop all aspects of their potential as human beings. Dr. Pannabecker received his B.A. degree with an English major and Psychology minor from Bethel College in Mishawaka, IN, Mdiv degree in Theology from Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, KY, MA in Counseling Psychology from UT-Austin, and his PhD in Counseling Psychology from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX.
