HISTORY
The CTE was established in 1991 to coordinate and sponsor SEU faculty development opportunities. MISSION
The CTE supports St. Edward's Faculty in achieving the University's mission to promote excellence in teaching and learning. SERVICES
CTE services, resources, and opportunities are available to all SEU contracted and adjunct faculty: - Individual consulting, classroom visits or taping/review of classroom teaching, and review of course materials and assignments
- Annual in-house conferences for SEU faculty to "Showcase" examples of good teaching practices
- Assistance with SEU grant proposals for summer projects to improve course design and instruction
- Books, periodicals, newsletters, and online resources for enhancing teaching effectiveness
- Annual Teaching Awards to recognize and celebrate teaching excellence among SEU faculty
- Luncheon seminars on a wide range of topics are offered as needed, from providing job tips to adjuncts seeking full-time teaching positions to discussions of innovative teaching styles and techniques
