Award Categories & Criteria

Judges look for collaborations that improve the student experience. You can nominate any collaborative project for an EDDIE Award that falls within one of these three categories:

  • Process Improvement for Ease of Students
  • Mission Demonstrated
  • Everything Speaks

Note that all projects should have been completed by a cross-functional team of participants. Ideally, the solutions are also easy to implement.

Process Improvement for Ease of Students
This category recognizes projects that significantly improve the experience of our students by solving a specific customer-service problem or streamlining a complex process.

Mission Demonstrated
If your collaborative efforts illustrate the St. Edward’s University mission in action — delivering a liberal arts education that recognizes the importance of service learning — then this category is for you.

Everything Speaks
Projects entered under this category should make a positive impression on enrolled and/or prospective students. They should also increase the university’s prestige, reflecting our vision to be known as one of the best small universities in the country.

Entries are judged by a team of administrative staff members and student representatives. In addition to the categories above, the judges may grant a Special Merit Award to a project that may not meet the traditional award criteria but does demonstrate superior collaboration among participants.
