Additional dissemination activities include:
Capital IDEA and Austin Interfaith continue to discuss Project Access with other Industrial Areas Foundation affiliates with the intent to create an interest and awareness about the need of teachers and training for four year degrees. The Teacher Pipeline was highlighted at a May 2006 meeting in El Paso, Texas and Project ARRIBA, an El Paso non-profit organization whose main objective is to work with unemployed and underemployed citizens, is interested in training teachers and working with their local ISDs to gain support to make this happen.
In 2006, Steven Jackobs, Executive Director of Capital IDEA, attended a meeting in Alexandria, Virginia where he had an opportunity to talk to representatives from the US Department of Education about the program. |
