The Teacher’s Pipeline (formerly Project Access) is a collaborative partnership that provides teaching assistants in the Austin Independent School District with the support needed to earn a bachelor’s degree and teacher certification in a high need content area. The program addresses the needs identified by community members and the local school district, to increase the number of highly qualified teachers.

Currently, The Teacher’s Pipeline serves two cohorts of students. Participants seeking certification in bilingual education attend St. Edward’s University and those pursuing special education certification attend Huston Tillotson University.

Partners in the collaborative include: Austin Community College, Austin Independent School District, Austin Interfaith, Capital IDEA, Education Austin, Huston Tillotson University, and St. Edward's University. Each month, partners meet to further guide the program and to ensure that the needs of participants and the local community continue being met.
