Secondary Certification Requirements

classroom group discussionStudents completing the following programs will be awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree in the specific area of concentration and will be recommended for Texas grades 8-12 teacher certification upon graduation and the successful completion of the appropriate licensure examinations.

All students working toward 8-12 certification must meet the course requirements under:

  1. General Education
  2. Professional Education
  3. An Area of Academic Specialization (Major) and
  4. A Second Teaching Field (Optional).
