Supplemental Certification

The School of Education offers coursework to prepare certified teachers for two supplemental certificates:

1) English as a Second Language
2) Bilingual Education

English as a Second Language (ESL) (EC-12)
1. Hold a valid Texas teacher certificate. Provide SEU with a copy.
2. Successful completion of the following undergraduate courses
    (No more than six hours may be transfer work).

4. Serve one year in an approved ESL or bilingual classroom on permit.
Bilingual Education (EC-4)
1. Hold a valid Texas teacher certificate. Provide SEU with a copy.
2. Successful completion of the following undergraduate courses
    (No more than six hours may be transfer work).
