• Worked with mentors to develop lesson plans.

  • Adopt an Element project and presentation (chemistry)
  • TAAS preparation – Computer support for mentor teachers.

• “I taught the eighth grade science classes about the cell membrane. I’m beginning to really enjoy teaching!” -Jackie Guzman

Blackboard provided a communication forum for students to plan and share information.

• “Jackie, We are planning to bring our students to SEU for a fieldtrip. I know your class did this last year. ANY HINTS ???” -Adam Conley

• “Hey Adam, my advice to you is to start asking the professors around the science dept. for help and ideas. They were really great last year when we brought out our students” -Jackie Guzman

• “Thanks Jackie, I know I can count on then, but also wanted to see if any of the others in the program could help out? Please Let me know!” - Adam Conley

• “Next week, I am going to do an earthquake project with them. They are also going to present the information they found on the herbs we planted” -Lisa Diaz

• “Today, we worked on a project where they bought stocks and now they have to track the progress of the five different ones they bought. They really enjoyed this a lot !!” -Refugia Lehn

Through evaluation and discussion the following areas have been identified:

• Teams unable to schedule concurrent meeting times

• Limited school resources

• Transportation to outlying campuses

• Field trip organization

• Bilingual need
