In order to become eligible for admission to the Teacher Education Program, the undergraduate candidate must fulfill the following requirements:
  1. Completion of sixty (60) semester hours with a cumulative grade point average of 2.50 or better. Transfer students must complete twelve (12) hours of coursework at St. Edward's.
  2. Completion of all Foundational Skills courses (except foreign language) with a grade of C or better.
  3. Completion of the TASP Test with a minumum test score of 250 in reading, 230 in mathematics, and 220 in writing.
  4. Completion of an interview with a designated teacher education faculty memeber and a favorable recommendation from that faculty member.
  5. Submission of a formal application by the appropriate deadline. The deadlines for application are March 1 and October 1. Application forms are available in Holy Cross Hall, 102.
The Teacher Education Advisory Committee will convene to review applications and make recommendations for admission or denial to the program. Applicants will be notified of admission status in writing. Any student denied admission may reapply later when eligibility requirements are met. There will be no conditional admissions.
