Cokie Roberts to Speak at Commencement
Cokie Roberts, award-winning journalist and author, will address the 2008 senior class and their “graduating parents” at the spring commencement ceremony on May 3. Roberts is a senior news analyst for NPR and a political commentator for ABC News. She is a recipient of the Edward R. Murrow Award, public radio’s highest honor, and is the first broadcast journalist to win the prestigious Everett McKinley Dirksen Award. Her analysis and reporting have earned her three Emmy awards and induction into the Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame. The American Women in Radio and Television named Roberts as one of the 50 greatest women in the history of broadcasting. She is also the author of the national bestseller We Are Our Mother's Daughters, as well as Founding Mothers: The Women Who Raised Our Nation.
