Another Record-Breaking Year
In February President George E. Martin shared an overview of the university's recent accomplishments, including the launch of the student financial aid calculator, record freshmen retention levels, SACS reaccreditation and athletic achievements. Here are the highlights.
New Financial Aid Calculator Launches
Parents and students can now get an estimate of the financial aid they might be eligible to receive with the new online Financial Aid Calculator. By answering a few simple questions, students can use the calculator to see how affordable St. Edward's can be.
New Records for Spring Enrollment and Retention
Record enrollment continues with the Spring 2008 undergraduate student body reaching 3,225 — up from 3,095 this same time last year. The freshman retention from Fall 2006 to Fall 2007 reached its highest level in university history — at 85.1%. Retention from Fall 2007 to Spring 2008 stands at 96%, which substantially exceeds the national average.
University Receives Reaccreditation
St. Edward's recently received a 10-year reaccreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). As part of the reaccreditation process, St. Edward's implemented a university-wide Global Understanding Initiative, which will help ensure that students graduate with the ability to evaluate events and issues with an international perspective.
