There’s no time quite like Homecoming and Parents Weekend at
Many parents kicked off Homecoming at Friday’s lively Casino Night, a favorite event for students. Alumni,
faculty and staff also took part in
the fun.

Later that morning, parents headed back to the classroom for compelling presentations by faculty members and students.
Next on the agenda — a sneak peek of the new residential village, which opened in
January 2009.
The Homecoming tailgate party drew crowds in the afternoon. Hilltopper families gathered for a Texas-style picnic with live music, kids’ activities and fun with mascot Topper … and cheered on a basketball doubleheader.
Turnout for the Hilltopper games was close to capacity on both Friday and Saturday.
The women’s basketball team swept past Newman University with a dominating 65-43 win. A special halftime ceremony honored the university’s first All-Era Team for women’s athletics — part of this year’s 35th Anniversary of Women’s Athletics at St. Edward’s celebrated at Homecoming.
The men’s baseball team split a doubleheader against UT–Permian Basin on Friday afternoon. The Hilltoppers fell in the first game, 4-10, but took the second one, 3-0. In Saturday’s playoff, Hilltoppers wrapped up the contest with a 7-4 win. Saturday night, the men’s basketball team met Newman University in a tight match that ended in an 87-82 victory for the Hilltoppers.
