2010 Spring Graduates

Cardinal Theodore E. McCarrick to Speak at Commencement

On Saturday, May 8, Cardinal Theodore E. McCarrick, PhD, DD, Archbishop Emeritus of Washington, D.C., a national human rights advocate and founding member of the Papal Foundation, will address the 2010 senior class and their family and friends. Fluent in five languages, McCarrick was one of 115 Cardinals who participated in the conclave that elected Pope Benedict XVI in April 2005. Education has always been a priority for McCarrick, who supported the creation of Forward in Faith, a D.C. Opportunity Scholarship program to assist low-income families and their children in quality school choices.

Spring marks our first graduation during the 125th anniversary year of St. Edward’s. Help your senior get ready for this special event with these important reminders:

• Stay on top of last-minute details with our handy graduation checklist (PDF).
• Encourage your student to swing by the Office of Career Planning, where our dedicated staff provides students and alumni with support and knowledge for career success.
• Remind your senior to check the mail. St. Edward’s will send invitations soon for your senior to join our end-of-year graduation events and celebration parties.

Staying Connected

The St. Edward’s University Alumni Association supports our graduates and connects them to more than 22,000 alumni around the world. All graduates are automatically enrolled in the alumni association when they register and join Hilltop.Connect, our free online alumni community. It’s a great way to stay connected to the hilltop and keep university friendships and memories going strong.

Seniors Invest in Future Hilltoppers

Every graduating class at St. Edward’s has the opportunity to make an investment in the education of future Hilltoppers — just like previous alumni of St. Edward’s have invested in the Class of 2010.
