Sneak Peek at Homecoming Weekend:
Feb. 9-11, 2007
Homecoming 2007 is fast approaching, and parents are encouraged to join in on the fun. There are an array of activities — from receptions and campus tours to games and student/faculty presentations
— for you to enjoy with your student. Below is a sneak peek at the festivities.
First, don't miss the Evening Macbeth Dress Rehearsal on Friday, Feb. 9, at the Mary Moody Northen Theatre. Join fellow Hilltopper parents to preview the spring production of Macbeth.
Saturday, Feb. 10
Learn about the latest trends in the sciences at Catalyst for the Future: Focus on the Sciences Open House. Catch a behind-the-scenes tour of the new John Brooks Williams Natural Sciences Center, witness cutting-edge experiments by students and hear the keynote address by Michael Raiford, who is the director of Systems and Innovation at Samsung Austin Semiconductor. Raiford is also the vice chair of the School of Natural Sciences Advisory Board at St. Edward's University. Attendees should meet at the North Building of the Sciences Center at 1 p.m.
From 2 to 3 p.m. various classrooms throughout campus will be offering presentations co-led by current faculty and students as part of Learn to Think: Courses for Curiosity's Sake.
Don't miss the biggest athletics event of the weekend. Join us for a tailgate party at the Homecoming Tent, and then watch the men's and women's basketball teams as the Hilltoppers host the Oklahoma Panhandle State University Aggies. The fun begins at 4 p.m. After the game, try your luck at Casino Night in the Homecoming Tent — prizes will be awarded.
Sunday, Feb. 11
And, you can't leave without joining us for a farewell brunch for alumni, parents and students. We'll be serving up an array of goodies at the Homecoming Tent at 11 a.m.
