Editorial Policy
Publication editors review each news item for university relevance, timeliness and usefulness to the audience. Content is also reviewed and edited for university style, flow, punctuation, readability and length, as well as federal CAN-SPAM compliance.
Word Count
To help manage the length of our e-newsletters, all items should be 100 words or less. When you login to the News Reporter Form, you'll see a word counter to the left of the field where you'll enter your text. The counter will let you know when you've reached the 100-word limit - please make sure you edit your entry accordingly.
In addition, an editor may need to validate the content for events and other news to ensure accuracy prior to publication. If content cannot be confirmed, the material may be held for publication in a future issue. Every effort will be made to notify the news reporter when this situation arises. See the News Criteria table below for additional details.
