  • Leadershape 2013

    Sunday, January 6, 11:00am-2:15pm at Camp Young Judaea in Wimberely, TX

     The LeaderShape Institute is an interactive, energizing and unique experience for 60 selected students of St. Edward’s and specifically focuses on leadership development and personal discovery. Participants will leave LeaderShape with a clarified view of their role as a leader in society and at St. Edward's.  The next LeaderShape retreat will be held the week of Jan 6-11, 2013 at Camp Young Judaea in Wimberely, TX.

    • Applications will be available online on October 26, 2012 and the deadline to turn in applications will be November 2.
  • Second Saturday Guided Hike

    Saturday, January 12, 10:00am-12:00pm at Wild Basin Wilderness Preserve, 805 N. Capital of Texas Hwy. Austin, TX 78746

    Wild Basin's guided hike is a great way to learn about the native Texas Hill Country. Join us for a 2 hour guided hike with our seasoned trail guide and naturalist, John Barr. Sign-up begins 15 minutes before the hike. Guided hike begins on the deck of the Wild Basin Creative Research Center.   • New College Information Session

    Learn how you can complete your degree!
    An Information Session is where you'll learn more about your options to earn or transfer credits before you apply. You'll hear a brief presentation about New College, the undergraduate degree completion program for adult learners, and meet your personal admission coordinator. There is no cost to attend and guests are welcome. We look forward to meeting you.

  • Native Plant Society of Texas Chapter Meeting

    Tuesday, January 15, 7:00pm-9:00pm at Wild Basin Wilderness Preserve, 805 N. Capital of Texas Hwy. Austin, TX 78746

    The presentation at the January 15, 2013, meeting of the Austin chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas will be "Bumblebees of Texas" by Michael Warriner.
    Doors open at 6:30 pm for socializing, munching, and general good fun.  Nonmembers welcome; free admission.
    Bumblebees have gone virtually unstudied in most states in this country despite their critical roles in agriculture and natural ecosystems. In the United States, there is a real need to to assess how their populations are faring and if conservation actions are needed.

  • Comedy LIVE! with Paul Varghese

    Come and enjoy a FREE night of snacks, raffle prizes and comedy with Paul Varghese. Paul was once named “Best Stand-up Comic in Austin” and has appeared on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” and Showtime’s “Russell Peters Presents.”

  • Student Juried Exhibition 2013 - Opening Reception

    Friday, January 18, 6:00pm-8:00pm at Fine Arts Gallery

    This exhibition provides a setting where the university community and the public can see the depth and excellence of artwork created by students from the departments of Art, Graphic Design and Photocommunications at St. Edward’s University. A visiting creative professional is invited to jury this exhibition each year.

    Still need some items to furnish your room? Need to stock your fridge? Join your fellow Hilltoppers on a FREE excursion to HEB Plus (it’s so much more than a grocery store). Shuttles will leave from Mary Moody Northen Theatre starting at 8 pm. Last shuttle from campus leaves at 11:10 pm and from HEB at 11:45.
     

  • Land Management Work Day

    A recruiter from Provident Funding will host an employer information table to recruit students for 8 open Servicing Anaylst positions on Monday, January 28 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the lobby of the Ragsdale Center.   • Taizé Prayer Service

    Join us for a spring Taizé prayer service in Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel. Our gatherings are based on the values of the monastic community in Taizé, France, which views its work as a sign of reconciliation between Christians. Like worship in Taizé, our services are simple and contemplative, seeking to provide quiet moments of candle-lit prayer and reflection within our busy lives. All are welcome.   
    Services fall on these second and fourth Mondays at 7 p.m.: Jan. 28; Feb. 11 and 25; Mar. 25; Apr. 8 and 22.

    Thursday, January 31, 9:00pm-10:00pm at Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel

    Join us each Thursday throughout the semester to spend time in prayer, worship, and reflection before the Blessed Sacrament. Feel free to stop in for five minutes or stay through the entire hour.
