    BE A MENTOR and support new students during their transition into campus life for the 2013-2014 academic year. Hilltop Mentors, coordinated by Student Life, matches faculty, staff, and upperclassmen with first-year, transfer, and international students. Mentoring is a relationship that, when consciously grounded in learning, is beneficial for both the mentor and mentee. This experience is about supporting development, fostering community engagement, and encouraging each individual to make the most of their time at St. Edward's.
    To apply to serve as a Hilltop Mentor, please complete the form on Collegiate Link. For new mentors, please fill out the form for Hilltop Mentors and for mentors who are recommitting (have been mentors in past) please fill out the form for recommitment on Collegiate Link.

  • Blackboard Unavailable for Upgrade
    Thursday, July 4, 6:00am-5:00pm

    Blackboard will be upgraded on July 4th and the service will be unavailable from 6 AM to 5 PM. Users will be unable to log in or access course content during this time; please plan accordingly. No existing Blackboard functionality will be lost, and progress on this upgrade will be communicated via social media during the maintenance window.

  • REACH OUT wins award! Now it's your turn.
    Monday, July 8, 11:30am-1:30pm at Robert and Pearle Ragsdale Center, Main Lobby

    The student initiative REACH OUT repsonsible for hosting the annual Homeless Resource Fair has won the Catholic Campus Ministry Association's Exemplary Program Award in the category of Educating for Justice. April's resource fair helped bring services to 352 people experiencing homelessness in South Austin. Now it's your turn to "reach out!"
    On Monday, stop by the Ragsdale Lobby to pick up a FREE simple care package you can keep in your car or deliver to your favorite nonprofit. Customize it with your own donation of socks, toiletries, phone cards, etc. or donate as is. 

  • Freshman Orientation 2013: Session IV
    Thursday, July 11, 8:00am-Friday, July 12, 4:00pm

    Freshman students entering the fall semester may choose from six Orientation sessions throughout the summer. Events planned during Orientation provide opportunities to meet other new students, as well as St. Edward's University faculty, staff, student leaders and administrators. In addition, we provide academic placement testing so you may choose courses appropriate to your proficiencies.

  • Second Saturday Guided Hike
    Saturday, July 13, 9:00am-11:00am at Wild Basin Wilderness Preserve, 805 N. Capital of Texas Hwy. Austin, TX 78746

    Wild Basin's guided hike is a great way to learn about the native Texas Hill Country. Join us for a 2 hour guided hike with our seasoned trail guide and naturalist, John Barr. Guided hike begins on the deck of the Wild Basin Creative Research Center. Registration is through meet-up.com,  http://www.meetup.com/bcpfriends

  • Wild Basin Land Management Workday
    Saturday, July 20, 8:30am-12:00pm at Wild Basin Wilderness Preserve, 805 N. Capital of Texas Hwy. Austin, TX 78746

    Like to get dirty, work hard, and have fun? Then join volunteers for trail maintenance, invasive plant removal, revegetation, erosion control, and other land management projects on the third Saturday of each month.
     
    Note:  Wear hiking boots or sturdy shoes and long pants with a long-sleeved shirt.  Bring bottled water and gloves, plus a day pack to carry personal items. You need your hands free! Dress for the weather: hat & sunscreen for solar protection and a raincoat/light jacket if it's chilly or raining lightly. We don't go out in thunderstorm conditions.
