  • Art Senior Exhibition

    Celebrate the accomplishments of St. Edward's University graduating seniors as they present final examples of their creative research in this exhibit.

  • Phylum, Kingdom, Domain: Curating the Natural World Exhibit at Wild Basin

    Friday, April 25, 9:00am-Wednesday, May 7, 4:00pm at Wild Basin Creative Research Center

    An exhibit of works by students in the “Space and Place” sculpture class, led by Visiting Assistant Professor of Art Sara Parent-Ramos, will be on view inside the Wild Basin Creative Research Center.  During this course, students discussed artists' work and larger environmental issues through the lens of four archetypes: the engineer, the worshiper, the cataloger and the consumer. For their final project, students were tasked with using the artifacts and research already present at the Wild Basin as a springboard for artistic exploration.

  • Wild Basin Second Saturday Guided Hike

     Wild Basin's guided hike is a great way to learn about the native Texas Hill Country. Join us for a 2 hour guided hike with our seasoned trail guide and naturalist, John Barr.   • Wild Basin Volunteer Stewardship Day

    Saturday, May 17, 8:30am-12:30pm at Wild Basin Creative Research Center

    Like to get dirty, work hard, and have fun? Join Wild Basin volunteers for trail maintenance, invasive plant removal, revegetation, erosion control, and other environmental stewardship projects.  Note:  Wear hiking boots or sturdy shoes and long pants with a long-sleeved shirt.  Bring bottled water and gloves, plus a day pack to carry personal items. You need your hands free! Dress for the weather, with hat & sunscreen for sun protection and a raincoat/light jacket if it's chilly or raining lightly.   • Wild Basin Family Friendly: Insect Safari

    Saturday, May 31, 10:30am-12:30pm at Wild Basin Creative Research Center

    Valerie Bugh, an experienced local entomologist, will give pointers on finding, identifying, and understanding the little creatures that rule the world. Join us for a casually-paced, detail-oriented bug hunt in the varied terrain of Wild Basin.
    Suggested items to bring: close-focusing binoculars, a hand lens, a digital camera, and an inquisitive mind.
    Considerations: 
     
    Limited to 30 individuals. Suitable for children accompanied by adults. All youth must be under parental supervision at all times and participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
