    We invite you to join us for our Transfer Information Sessions from noon-1 p.m. Friday, August 1.
    During this session, you’ll learn more about St. Edward’s University and our transfer admission process, along with information about our majors and internship opportunities will also be provided.  Light refreshments will be provided.  This is a free event.

  • Retirement Reception for Russell Sterns

    Thursday, August 7, 4:00pm-6:00pm at Robert and Pearle Ragsdale Center, Kresge Game Room

    After 27 years of service to the university as Head Tennis Coach, Russell Sterns is handing off his racquet. Sterns is only the second men’s tennis coach in the history of the university, having replaced his former coach, and Hall of Famer, Brother Emmett Strohmeyer in 1987. His storied tenure as one of the all-time winningest coaches on the Hilltop includes coaching both the men’s and women’s teams.

  • Assumption of Mary

    Friday, August 15, 12:00pm-12:30pm at Brothers' Chapel, St. Joseph Hall

    Come celebrate Mass for the Solemnity of the Assumption of Mary at noon in the Brothers' Chapel (St. Joseph Hall).  This is a holy day of obligation for Catholics but please note that all are welcome!
    On November 1, 1950, Pius XII defined the Assumption of Mary to be a dogma of faith: "We pronounce, declare and define it to be a divinely revealed dogma that the immaculate Mother of God, the ever Virgin Mary, having completed the course of her earthly life, was assumed body and soul to heavenly glory."

  • New Faculty Orientation

    Monday, August 18, 8:00am-3:30pm at Main Building, Maloney Room

    The New Faculty Orientation is a combined orientation for both new adjunct and contracted faculty.  The session includes valuable information that will help in their transition as well as lunch with colleagues, giving them the opportunity to meet those who will be able to assist them in every area of their St. Edward's experience.

    Transfer students and their respective families and friends will be on campus Monday,  August 18 , to get acquainted with the university and all of its resources. Please welcome the newest Hilltoppers to our community. If you see any lost parents or students, please direct them to one of the Orientation staff members who will be able to assist them.

    Wednesday, August 20, 8:00am-Thursday, August 21, 4:00pm

    Incoming freshman students and their respective families and friends will be on campus Wednesday, August 20, and Thursday, August 21, to get acquainted with the university and all of its resources. Please welcome the newest Hilltoppers to our community. If you see any lost parents or students, please direct them to one of the Orientation staff members who will be able to assist them.

  • Campus Connections

    New Incoming students will participate in the "First 4 Experience", a challenge that educates them about important happenings in the first 4 weeks of the new school year. They will then be matched with 4 organizations that best fit their personal interests. This event is key in their mission to "take on their world".

  • CTE: 2014 Teaching Symposium

    Thursday, August 21, 8:30am-4:00pm at John Brooks Williams South Building

    The Center for Teaching Excellence invites you to attend the 2014 Teaching Symposium: A Conference on College Teaching. The conference runs from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.  An opening plenary, featuring Dr. Paul Gaston of Kent State University, will be followed by presentations, panels, and workshops on a wide range of teaching topics.  This peer-reviewed conference aims to actively engage participants. Gain fresh ideas, meet new colleagues, and rekindle your passion for teaching and learning. Serving breakfast, lunch and plenty of coffee all day, so please RSVP.     This social event and scavenger hunt will be unlike anything else you have ever experienced. It’s entertainment! It’s active! It’s fun! It’s the perfect way to make new friends and get excited about the start of your first year! Wear tennis shoes.

  • Mass of the Holy Spirit

    Celebrate the start of the new school year with this special Mass for the whole St. Edward's community!  Parents, families, students (new and returning), faculty, and staff are welcome and encouraged to attend.  This will serve as the final event for families during Welcome Days.

    The Legacy Walk, following the Medallion ceremony,  invites Freshman to join their class in a procession through the iconic red doors of Main Building, through the heart of campus marking your entrance into the St. Edward’s community.
