    A selected group of senior student leaders are invited to meet with top administrators each month at events hosted by the Office of Student Life. The conversations between students and administrators will serve as opportunities for students to learn valuable information about such topics as university strategic plans, history, goals, and how they can be influential in the future.

  • Public Stargazing at Wild Basin

    Sunday, January 25, 6:30pm-9:00pm at Wild Basin Creative Research Center, 805 N. Capital of Texas Hwy Austin, TX 78746

    Come and observe the night sky from Wild Basin! Austin Astronomical Society members and Wild Basin volunteers conduct special astronomy tours at Wild Basin, weather permitting. Members of the AAS volunteer telescopes for viewing at the overlook and in the parking lot. It is recommended that you bring drinking water, a small flashlight, binoculars and good walking shoes. Presentation will begin on the deck of the Wild Basin Visitor Center.

  • Social Justice Film Series: Inequality for All

    Please join us for the first film in the Social Justice FIlm Series for Spring 2015, which is designed to support students in American Experience and American Dilemmas.  Dr. Amy Nathan Wright will screen Robert Reich's documentary Inequality for All.  
    In this film, "Reich explains how the massive consolidation of wealth by a precious few threatens the viability of the American workforce and the foundation of democracy itself. . . Reich uses humor and a wide array of facts to explain how the issue of economic inequality affects each and every one of us" (Amazon.com review).

    Representatives from Dell will conduct an information session about their FT Job + Development Program for May 2015 graduates. This entry-level job program is designed for recent college graduates. This event will be held Tuesday, January 27 in Carter Auditorium (1st floor of the John Brooks Williams South Building) at 5:30 p.m. All students and alumni are welcome to attend.   • Alexandra Toma to Speak at the Center for Ethics & Leadership

    Thursday, January 29, 4:00pm-5:00pm at Fleck Hall, Room 305

    Alexandra Toma will reveal what's hot in DC politics and discuss how she navigated dramatic shifts in policy, while continuing to make a difference in her field of foreign policy and national security.  Toma recently served as Executive Director of the Connect U.S. Fund, a donors' collaborative focused on incentivizing collaboration as a tool to meet today's human rights, nuclear nonproliferation and climate change challenges. Toma is a professor at George Washington University's Elliott School of International Affairs.

  • Interfaith Academy: "Don't Judge a Book By Its Cover!"

    Join in this presentation and dialogue concerning how we initially perceive those who are different than us culturally and religiously.  Do we accept people or do we judge them based upon appearances, what we have heard 3rd hand, cultural traditions, or other factors?
    The first in a series of Interfaith Academy offering by the Dialogue Institute of the Southwest and is being sponsored on campus by Campus Ministry.
