Freshman Studies teaches abilities and habits of the
mind which everyone needs to succeed in college, in
the workplace, and in life. It teaches students how
to read and think critically and how to write well.
This course also raises existential questions that will
be emphasized throughout the curriculum at St. Edwards:
Who am I? How did I come to be the person I am today?
How am I connected with other people in local, national,
and global communities? What do I value? How can I critically
examine my own values and beliefs? How can I best develop
my potential as a human being and help create a world
in which other people can develop theirs as well? |
