Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. owns the certification marks CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and CFP (with flame logo)®, which it awards to individuals who successfully complete initial and ongoing certification requirements. St. Edward’s University does not certify individuals to use the CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and CFP® (with flame logo) marks. CFP certification is granted solely by Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. to individuals who, in addition to completing an educational requirement such as this CFP board-registered program, have met ethics, experience and examination requirements.
MBA Concentrations


The MBA Program allows students to focus on general management skills to gain a broad prospective of business and develop a functional or interdisciplinary concentration by directing your studies into one or more specialized areas of business.

The Accounting concentration is designed for students who majored in accounting as undergraduates and who wish to meet the educational requirements for examination toward professional certification as a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Texas.

The Business Management concentration places particular attention on understanding the role of the business firm in society; the management functions of planning, leading, organizing and controlling; and the tools with which modern management performs those functions.

E-Commerce
The E-commerce concentration provides students with an understanding of the unique elements of this interactive medium, how to create entrepreneurial E-commerce enterprises, how to develop competitive
The Entrepreneurship course work is designed for maximum experiential learning in areas ranging from self-assessment of entrepreneurial skills and attitudes to field research in existing entrepreneurial organizations.

Finance Concentrations
The Corporate Finance concentration provides students with a synthesis of the theoretical, practical and ethical issues that face corporate financial managers today.

The Personal Financial Planner concentration provides students with a synthesis of the theoretical, practical and ethical issues that face financial planners today. It is designed to immerse students in the issues and ideas that will assist them in making wellinformed, thoughtful recommendations for their future financial planning clients. The concentration is a registered program with the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc., so successful completion of the concentration will allow students to sit for the CFP® Certification Examination, part of the process for becoming a CFP® Certificant.

The Global Business concentration expands on the basic global perspective provided in many MBA core courses.

Health Care Management
The Health Care Management concentration is designed to respond to the need for sophisticated and accountable health care industry professionals who appreciate the ethical ramifications of their decisions and whose education is strongly based on business principles.
The Human Resource Management concentration is a comprehensive examination of the field of human resource management.
The MIS concentration is designed for students with an interest in developing the knowledge and skills to use technology to enhance organizational performance.
The marketing concentration focuses on strategic use of the marketing mix and the crucial concept of customer relationship management.

Operations Management
The Operations Management concentration allows students to choose between a Services or a Production Operations focus.
The Sports Management concentration provides students who are interested in sports related organizations with the opportunity to learn the skills necessary to manage in either the private or public sector.
