About Hilltop Views
Hilltop Views is a tabloid-size newspaper published on alternate Wednesdays during the fall and spring semesters. We print 3,000 copies of each issue, and copies are available throughout campus. View our Spring 2008 publication schedule.
The newspaper contains four sections, with two pages devoted to each section:
- Features
- Entertainment
- Viewpoints
- Sports
News appears on the first three pages of each issue. Color photographs are published on the front and back pages as well as the center spread.
Each section has its own editor and designer. Writers and photographers are encouraged to submit stories to different departments and to the news pages.
Students interested in working for, or contributing to, the newspaper are invited to attend news meetings held every Wednesday during the semester at 4:45 p.m. in Fleck 305.
The newspaper’s adviser is a member of the faculty. The adviser oversees the publication and selects the editor who in turn, hires section editors, designers, writers and photographers. Priority for paid jobs is given to students who have taken, or are taking, journalism classes.
