Service & Unsung Hero Awards Ceremony

President George Martin and the Office of Human Resources are pleased to invite you to the annual Service & Unsung Hero Awards Ceremony.

The Service Awards recognize those employees who completed five, 10, 15, 20, 25, 25, 30, 35, and 40 years of service in 2009 for their commitment to St. Edward’s and support the university’s strategic priority of attracting and retaining diverse, high-quality faculty and staff.

The Unsung Hero Awards honor four staff employees who have consistently demonstrated the university’s operating principles, often working behind the scenes with little thought of reward or recognition.

The ceremony will take place prior to the February President’s Meeting.

Wednesday, Feb. 24
2:30 – 3:30 p.m.
Jones Auditorium, Robert & Pearle Ragsdale Center

Human Resource Charter

The Office of Human Resources promotes competitive compensation, benefits and development opportunities for St. Edward's University employees, enabling them to provide distinctive service to customers. HR has both service and monitoring responsibilities, including developing and implementing prudent and progressive policies, offering creative business solutions, facilitating positive interaction and employee relations, and making cost-effective, values-based decisions.

The Human Resources staff is committed to the following four principles:

  • Integrity: We steward resources wisely and are honest, fair, ethical and confidential.
  • Partnership: We collaborate with our internal and external colleagues and senior leadership to advance the strategic priorities and to promote well-informed people decisions.
  • Proactivity: We use our vision to anticipate and act on our customers’ needs.
  • Expertise: We are knowledgeable and creative problem solvers who understand the varying challenges and changing needs of our customers.
