Plumber (General Maintenance III)

$2,709 - $2,953/month
Scope: 
Responsible for performing maintenance required of a journeyman plumber.
Responsibilities: 
Essential:
Troubleshoot and repair plumbing problems, including restroom facilities, major and minor sewage systems, potable water supply systems, sewer lift stations, laboratory water filtered systems, emergency fire lines, building sprinkler systems and minor installation of new plumbing systems.
Perform routine general maintenance (carpentry, electrical, locks, and fire alarms) on various building systems
Other:
Assist other trades on an as-needed basis.
Qualifications: 
Journeyman Plumber License, three years of related experience and a good all around knowledge of maintenance plumbing.
Knowledge of troubleshooting/repair of Sloan flush meters and Delta tub/shower valves. Must be willing to be licensed in backflow prevention and fire hydrant testing.
Valid vehicle driver’s license with a clean driving record, and must be insurable and have dependable transportation.
Must be telephonically available for on-call duty on a rotating basis.
Must be able to work off of a 12-foot ladder; and be able to lift and carry a 50 lb. load for 50 feet.
Must be able to read and write the English language at a tenth grade level.
Successful completion of an employment and/or criminal history background check required.
Equipment: 
Pickup truck, maintenance vehicles, jackhammers, sewer auger, pipe threading machine and miscellaneous plumbing hand and power tools. Knowledge of gas/electric welding preferred.
