Business Adjunct Faculty
School of Management and Business


Scope
Appointments will be part-time adjunct faculty positions to teach a course section in the School of Management and Business undergraduate and/or graduate business program during upcoming semesters. Adjunct faculty positions are non-benefits eligible appointments of one-semester duration.

Responsibilities
Three hours per week of classroom instruction per section, one scheduled office hour per week for each course taught, and evaluation of student work in each course taught. Course availability varies, and faculty are sought for the following subject areas –

Graduate:
- Business Law
- Finance: Corporate Finance, Financial Statement Analysis, Financial Derivatives
- Family Mediation
- Human Resource Management and Human Relations
- MCIS: Web Programming, Knowledge Management, Java Programming
- Managerial Communications
- Project Management

Undergraduate:
- Business Communication
- Business Law
- Finance: Corporate Finance, Financial Statement Analysis, Financial Derivatives
- Principles of Management

Format and Delivery
Graduate courses are delivered in three formats: in-class, online, and blended. In-class courses meet in classrooms on SEU’s Main Campus in South Austin – or at the SEU Professional Education Center, located in Northwest Austin. In-class courses meet once per week. Blended courses have both in-class meetings and online meetings, and online courses typically have a voluntary orientation during the first class and meet online for the remainder of the trimester.

All undergraduate courses are delivered using the in-class format, and meet on the Main Campus two (Tuesday/Thursday, or Monday/Wednesday), or three (Monday/Wednesday/Friday) days per week.

Qualifications
Graduate courses require a PhD in a field related to the course taught.
Undergraduate courses require a Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 hours of coursework in the discipline taught required; Ph.D. preferred. Work experience in the discipline being taught also preferred.
Teaching experience desirable.
Ability to comply with workplace guidelines and attendance requirements.
Successful completion of an employment and/or criminal history background check required.
