Why I Teach

As a teacher, my role is to educate, motivate and push students to continually strive for their ultimate goals, but mostly, to instill in them their own sense of confidence. I encourage them to seek opportunities that challenge them artistically, both in and outside of the classroom. This reinforcement of their talent makes a precious connection between theory and practice.

In the classroom, I focus on the development of the whole individual using craft, theory, history and critical and creative thinking. I believe this approach helps my students to become more aware of their passions, their abilities and who they are.
