Why I Teach

Teaching provides the opportunity for me to re-learn and re-see familiar material through the eyes of my students. It gives me the chance to mentor emerging scholars as they seek to find answers and solutions to their questions. Teaching allows me to watch students find their own voices as tomorrow’s leaders and citizens through their publications, presentations and performances.

I push students to not just be active or engaged learners, but to see themselves as future scholars.
