Why I Teach

I teach for the same reason that a storyteller tells stories. I get tremendous satisfaction when a student stitches discrete pieces of information into that fabric we call “knowledge.”

Teaching with passion, enthusiasm and commitment, I use hands-on or problem-solving approaches that best fit the students’ needs. We may work with a found object to fuel their desire to learn on their own. Or, I may incorporate demonstrations that yield discrepant results to stimulate their innate curiosity and drive them to inquire more deeply into the underlying principles and processes.
