This organization unites members for the purpose of promoting the advancement of women and men in all fields of communication, working for the First Amendment rights and responsibilities of communicators, recognizing distinguished professional achievements, and promoting high professional standards throughout the communication industry.

Lambda Pi Eta is the official honor society of the National Communication Association designed to recognize, foster and reward scholastic achievement; stimulate interest in the field of communication; and promote professional development and interest in graduate studies among communication majors.
