I S.A.W. You
Students At Work

The School of Humanities has a recognition system to reward excellent work by the student employees of our department. This program is modeled after the W.O.W. program put forth by the Human Resources Department to recognize outstanding work by staff members. A list of exceptional behaviors is provided below as a guideline.

Wondering what kind of student employee performance warrants on-the-spot recognition with an “I SAW You” submission? Here are a few examples:

  1. Providing extraordinary service to customers/students/faculty members
  2. Assisting/covering for a team member
  3. Being an exceptional steward of resources (i.e. office supplies, equipment, etc)
  4. Setting an example that will inspire others
  5. Demonstrating exceptional leadership and initiative
  6. Demonstrating the “Everything Speaks,” philosophy
  7. Setting and achieving goals
  8. Coming up with a great idea or innovation
  9. Taking the initiative to complete a project/solve a problem without being asked

What is the process? How do I give an “I S.A.W. You?”

To nominate a student, fill out the online submission form. An email will be sent directly to the student and to Kate Rosati, Administrative Coordinator for the School of Humanities.

What happens after you submit an “I S.A.W. You?”

Every “I S.A.W You” received earns the student one entry into a drawing that we will conduct at the end of each semester. An employee can nominate a student more than once, which will increase his/her chances to win in the prize drawing.

Prizes could include: gift cards to restaurants/stores, something related to St. Edward’s or specific to the Humanities department, etc. This is subject to change and open to suggestion.

Why are we doing this?

It is designed to encourage the university's operating principles and recognize those who demonstrate these principles by going above and beyond what is required.  It is a great way to let our students know how important they are and to show our appreciation for the amazing dedication and work they do.

This is adapted from the School of Education’s program by the same name.
