In August, 2000, the Photocommunications Department moved
into the long awaited new photo lab facility. The facility is state-of-the-art,
and is conveniently located adjacent to faculty offices, a critique/classroom,
and new computer lab for digital imaging and video editing. The computer lab
has 22 dual-processor G5's with 20" Apple
Display monitors, film and flatbed scanners, Epson 4000 and 4800 printers, CD burners,
and video editing capabilities.
The Photocommunications Department has small, medium and large format cameras
available for students to check-out throughout the semester, plus flashes, tripods,
and other equipment.
The photography and computer labs are located in the new Fine Arts Facility, across
from the Scarborough-Philips Library. There is also an Art Gallery in the facility,
where photography and art exhibits are held throughout the academic year. Senior
Photocommunications majors hang the annual Senior Exhibit in this space, and faculty
exhibit their work in the biennial Photocommunications Faculty Exhibition.
