Ev also acts with other professional theaters in Austin--recently as Mayor Shinn in Austin Musical Theatre's production of THE MUSIC MAN with Larry Gatlin, as The Coach in Onstage Production's THAT CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON, and as Grumio in the State Theatre Company's THE TAMING OF THE SHREW.

Ev has acted, directed, and designed over 100 productions. He has appeared regularly as an Equity Guest Artist at the Mary Moody Northen Theatre since 1990. Last fall Ev appeared as King Arthur in CAMELOT. In the spring of 1999, he directed Thornton Wilder's classic THE SKIN OF OUR TEETH. He directed the world premier of Dr. Alan Altimont's (SEU Assistant Professor of English) play TAKE A DEEP BREATH for SEU's 1997 Summerstock, and this spring he will direct Neil Simon's autobiographical comedy LAUGHTER ON THE 23RD FLOOR.

Before joining the SEU faculty in 1991, Ev taught in private and public secondary schools for 20 years in Illinois and Texas. He holds a BA in English from Yale University and an MFA in Acting from the Yale School of Drama.

Ev has benefitted from the intense activity in video-game production in Austin. His voice appears on games produced by Origin Systems (WING COMMANDER II and LONGBOW) and Human Code (SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK and National Geographic's GEOBEE CHALLENGE). He has also been the voice of Dell Computer's employee training program "Dell University."
