Safety

The university attempts to maintain, insofar as it is reasonably within the control of the university to do so, an environment free of unsafe conditions.

The responsibility for the coordination of the safety program is assigned to the University Police Department. However, the implementation of the safety policy is the responsibility of faculty, staff, students, and other individuals associated with the university. Each individual who participates in the life of the university has the responsibility to participate actively in helping create a safe campus environment. Specific responsibilities of all faculty and staff are directly proportional to their operational authority.

The university complies with all appropriate Federal and State legislation and expects all employees to do the same. These laws, along with supporting rules and regulations issued by the university, will provide the necessary standards under which the school will conduct its safety program.

Safety questions or concerns should be directed to the University Police Chief at 448-8444 or 448-8445.
