Creating the Learning Unit

  1. Click on the Control Panel.
  2. Under Content Area you will click Course Documents.
  3. From the drop down menu select Learning Unit and then hit go.
  4. A set of options is now available. Fill in the information such as unit name and description.
  5. Below the description Select YES on to enforce sequential viewing of the Learning Unit. This will force the students to view the unit page by page.
  6.  Click Submit when finished modifying your options.
  7. You will be navigated to a receipt page, click OK to continue.

Your learning unit has now been created and will appear in your course documents.

Adding Content to Learning Unit

Follow these steps to add a file to your course:

Adding a file is unique to a learning unit, in other content areas choose Add Item to include files.

  1. Select a content area such as Assignments.
  2. In the top right corner click "Edit View".
  3. On the new page in the top menu bar click "+File".
  4. Input the name of the file.
  5. You can then browse for the file you want to upload.
  6. You have the option to name the file link but this step is not necessary. The file's name will be the default link name if left blank, for example if you have a Word document named "Paper_1.doc" the link name will be "Paper_1.doc". If you input a link name such as "Paper 1"  for the Paper_1.doc, the link will appear as "Paper 1" and not "Paper_1.doc".
