Accessing EdShare from Off Campus - Macintosh OS

Printer-friendly versionSend to friend

To access EdShare from off campus, resident hall, apartment, or wireless you must SFTP to the server using your SEU login information. This should be the same as your EdWeb login name and password. If you cannot login, you may need to reset your password using EdWeb.

You must have a Secure FTP client such as Fugu installed to access EdShare from your home computer. You can download Fugu from the SEU Software Downloads Page.

Once you have connected to a server via Fugu, you will see the following screen. The files listed on the left are those in your local computer, while the files on the right are those in your home directory on the remote computer. In the picture below files are listed for a folder on edshare.stedwards.edu.

Uploading files to another computer or server using Fugu

Simply drag the file you wish to transfer from one side of the window to the other. You can transfer from the local computer to the remote computer and back. You can also drag items from other windows or your desktop to the remote computer.

Publishing web pages using Fugu

If you are publishing a web page you will need to move the files to the directory public_html which is located in your personal edshare directory (edshare.stedwards.edu/public_html).

Save all of your web documents in the public_html folder. This includes your home page (index.htm or index.html) as well as all images and web pages.
