Forwarding Your St. Edward's University E-mail
Your St. Edward's e-mail account is your official e-mail contact address. All notices from St. Edward's administration and faculty will be sent to your St. Edward's e-mail address.
Student E-Mail Forwarding
Beginning May 18, 2009 students will no longer be able to change or add a forwarding e-mail address.
The primary reason for this is to insure that we have the technical ability to research any problem with email delivery to students. After discussion with the Computer Users group, the TLTR, and the Executive VP and Provost it has been decided that we will no longer support additional forwarding of student email accounts. (Existing forwards can remain active, but no changes can be made to forwards.) This does not affect Alumni forwarding.
Faculty and Staff E-Mail Forwarding
Faculty and Staff may still forward their e-mail. To have email sent to your SEU account automatically forward to another email account, you must log into the EdWeb for Faculty, or Staff Information on the Web site and setup a forwarding email address.
- Open your web browser and go to the EdWeb for Faculty and Staff site and click on EdWeb for Faculty and Staff.
- Login in with the login name and password used for EdWeb, E-mail, etc.
- On the left side of the web page, click on the link for Email.
- At the bottom of the page click on the link for Forward Email.
- On the right side of web page enter the email address where you would like your mail forwarded.
- Click on the button to Submit Change.
After 15 minutes, any new mail that goes to your St. Edward's faculty or staff account address will automatically be forwarded to your new email address. E-mail will not be kept on the SEU e-mail server once the forward is working. E-mail stored on the St. Edward's server prior to adding the forwarding address will be removed from the server 365 days after the date it was initially received.
Note:
- E-mail which has already been delivered to your SEU address will not be forwarded.
- The forwarding address you enter is not checked for accuracy. If the address is incorrect new e-mail will be returned to the sender.
- This forwarding only occurs as long as your account at SEU is active. E-mail arriving after your account is terminated will be returned to the sender.
Changing the Forwarding Address (for Faculty and Staff only)
If you need to change the email address your mail is forwarded to, simply execute the steps above again and remove the forward, replacing it with a new address.
Removing a Forwarding Address
To remove an existing forward record simple click on "Remove Forward". For students, no new forward may be added once the existing forward has been removed.
