Am I eligible for the workshop "Facebook for University Departments"? What do I need to bring?
Faculty and staff members must attend the social media session presented by the Marketing staff to be eligible for our technical training. After attending the session, please fill out the "Social Media Toolkit" distributed at the session along with digital copies of any multimedia to be included on the Facebook Page (such as photos and videos). Bring the completed "Social Media Toolkit" and copies of digital media to the training workshop with you.
Who should attend the workshop "Facebook for University Departments"?
Faculty and staff elected to become administrators (those who will create and maintain the Page) should attend the training. Marketing and IT recommend at least 2 administrators per Page.
What material is covered in the "Introduction to Social Media" workshop? I've heard of Twitter and Facebook...
This workshop is aimed at St. Edward's community members interested in learning more about how these social technologies became mainstream, what types of technologies are out there, and personal online reputation managment. This workshop is ideal for those who know little about social technologies such as social networking, blogging and media sharing and would like to use these services but are not sure where to start.
Help! I have to use Second Life for class but it's so confusing. Can someone just teach me how to move around and change my avatar's clothes?
Our new workshop, "Navigating Second Life" is for interested faculty, staff and students trying to learn the mechanics of Second Life. In this workshop, we will cover navigating around the World, interacting with objects, customizing clothes and avatar appearances, chatting and using Second Life URLs to teleport different places.
I'm a faculty member and I would like my students to use Second Life for my class. Who can I speak to about using Second Life in the classroom?
