I.T. offers many levels of graphics and desktop publishing software support for the St. Edward's community. Assistance is available to Faculty and Students interested in graphics and publishing software. Desktop publishing software is used by those in the print publishing market to create innovative magazine, newsletter and page layouts. The desktop publishing software supported includeds InDesign and Microsoft Publisher. Graphics software supported includes Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. Adobe Acrobat and DoPDF is also supported for those interested in creating Portable Document Formats (PDFs).

Support:

Students, Faculty, and Staff:

  • Contact Training to sign up for free computer training workshops which include Adobe Acrobat, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop. 

Faculty:

  • Contact the Faculty Resource Center for assistance with:
    • Special projects using Adobe Acrobat
    • Special projects using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator 
    • Special projects using Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Publisher
  • Contact Training for classroom training on Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Publisher, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator. To schedule a training for your students on these software fill out the classroom training form.

  • Basic Design Principles and Typography

Accessing Software: 

On Campus:

  • Students may access the software used for graphics and publishing (Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and Microsoft Publisher) in various labs on campus. Check the Student Computing Labs site to find the lab with this software .
  • Faculty may access Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and Microsoft Publisher in the Faculty Resource Center.

Ways to Purchase:

  • DoPDF is a free PDF creator and may be downloaded
  • Faculty and Staff may order Adobe Acrobat for office, classroom or lab computers through the Software Request Form.
