Training Room Information
Purpose
The computer training room, Moody Hall 309 is the designated lab for Instructional Technology (ITEC) to provide computer training workshops for St. Edward's University (SEU) faculty, staff, and students.
Priority
Scheduled computer competency ITCC 0001 classes and ITEC computer training workshops take priority over other room uses. All activities scheduled in this room must be supervised by an ITEC staff member.
Scheduling
All room use is scheduled through the Computer Competencies and Training Manager, Joana Trimble at phone number 464-8816 or e-mail joanat@stedwards.edu. Faculty requesting specific computer workshops for their classes must schedule through the ITEC Training Coordinator, Megan Garza at phone number 448-8554 or e-mail megang@stedwards.edu or another ITEC staff member who will then assume responsibility for the event (i.e., teach and/or supervise). The ITEC Training Coordinator will make the monthly training schedule available online, by e-mail and posted outside of the training room as a flyer by the first of the month. Additional events may be scheduled after the monthly schedule has been produced. A proposed event should not be considered scheduled until acknowledgment has been received via phone or e-mail from the ITEC Training Coordinator. In general, requests will most likely be granted provided that:
- There is not a conflict within the existing training schedule.
- The activity is singular and not ongoing.
Equipment
The computer training room, Moody Hall 309 is equipped with a total of 25 computers. 14 Dell Optiplex computers running Microsoft Windows XP Operating System and Microsoft Office 2003 and 2007 are student machines, 6 Macintosh computers running Mac OS X and Microsoft Office 2008 are also student machines, and one of each machine type is available at the instructor stand.
