Web Services Introduction
Web services is made up of a team of highly skilled web developers, also known as the Web Team.
The web services group
- Performs technical implementation and maintenance of the following web sites:
- Supports faculty in conjunction with Faculty Resource Center with the following:
- Personal/class/course/discipline related dynamic presences on academic.stedwards.edu
- Academic applications, both original to St. Edward’s or the instructor and augmented or sourced publicly available products
- Evaluates, develops, implements and maintains web based applications to support university processes, such as
- SOURCE site - supports the annual SOURCE
- ORB – Off Campus Roommate Board – a site for posting and reviewing roommate opportunities within SEU community
- Unsung Heroes/Star Party site – a product for nominating, evaluating, voting on Unsung Heroes, RSVPing for Star Party
- Upost – product to support submitting articles to campus e-newsletters, submitting events to university calendar(s), managing and editing articles and events, creating e-newsletters, distribution of e-newsletters, and supporting RSS feeds of events.

Maintaining www.stedwards.edu
The content for the various site chapters and pages are maintained by the chapter/page owner, often in conjunction with or with the assistance of the Marketing department. Most of the page creation and editing is done by the Web Team staff in response to a formal Web Request filed by the area representative or by a Marketing department staff member.
Maintaining other web sites and domains
There are quite a few other web sites and domains associated with St. Edward’s University, including:
- Faculty sites on myweb.stedwards.edu
- Academic sites on academic.stedwards.edu
- Sites for potential students
- Servers and sites specific to faculty and students in a department/course/class
