Output devices are machines that display information from the computer. Examples of output devices from the picture above are the monitor and the speakers. Printers (not shown) are also examples of output devices.

Output devices are controlled by the computer. After the processor translates the information from the input devices, the output devices deliver the information to the user. Examples would be words on the screen, information to the printer to print, or sound from the speaker.
