Section 4 - Desktop Overview

As you just learned, the desktop is the main screen generated by the Macintosh operating system. The Desktop serves as the home base for just about everything you will do on the computer. From the desktop, you can manage files, store documents, launch programs, adjust the way the computer works, and personalize the workspace. Each operating system has a unique desktop appearance.
