Save/Save As Menu

The Save As menu is a menu that users need to become familiar with. After you create or make changes to a file you will want to save the file. Click on File in the menu bar and choose Save or Save As from the pull-down menu. The first time you save a file the Save As menu will open regardless. Saving means sending your file to a disk, either your hard drive, floppy, ZIP, or Compact Disk. The first time you save a file the Save As menu will open asking for pertinent information. Once you have given this information the next time you need to save, you will have to click on Save in the file menu, unless you change any of the file’s pertinent information.

The first time you save something in a particular application, a window similar to this will come up.

Clicking the blue button with the down arrow will expand the window to show more options as shown below:
