Section 1 - Introduction
The Internet (Net) is a loose association of thousands of networks
and millions of computers across the world that all work together
to share information. It is a global system of computers that
carries data and makes the exchange of information possible. The
World Wide Web is a subset of the Net. The World Wide Web enables
simple and intuitive navigation of Internet sites through a graphical
user interface (GUI). Computers having the proper hardware can
connect to the Internet via an Internet Service Provider (ISP).
