Section 9 - SEU Mailing List Options

Spam Email
SPAM emails may be sent to SEU accounts promoting goods and services. Please be very skeptical of these emails, particularly ones trying to get you to fund any type of money making scheme. It is not only a means of taking your money, but also illegal in most cases. Always check to make sure that the business is legitimate. Never give out your credit card, or bank account information as a result of an email. Even if it appears legit, it is more than likely a scam.

SPAM is a major issue for all email users. Please also be aware that St. Edward's University does not sell user information.

E-newsletters
To help reduce the amount of unwanted emails, SEU has created three weekly student E-newsletters. There are three weekly student e-newsletters (one each for undergraduate, New College and graduate students) and are available for posting of announcements. All students are automatically subscribed to the e-newsletter for their program. Instructions for unsubscribing are below.

Submitting a New Item to an E-Newsletter

There is one online news request form for Horizon to serve the student e-newsletters. You'll be able to use one form to send in news request for all four e-newsletters. To provide a news item:

1. Go to www.stedwards.edu/enewsletters
2. Click Login link on the left side of the screen
3. Enter your Login Name and Password, then click the "Login" button underneath
4. Complete the form -- it will prompt you for all the info needed about your news item

Please note that the student e-newsletters replace the "announce.xxxx" lists previously used to e-mail groups of students.

The student e-newsletters are aimed at achieving two goals:

  • Ensure the university's compliance with federal CAN-SPAM regulations.
  • Respond to student requests to reduce the number of e-mails they receive from the university.

For more information see www.stedwards.edu/enewsletters.

Unsubscribing from an E-Newsletter

  1. Log in to EdWeb for Students
  2. Click on Mailing List Options
  3. Click on the circle next to Don't Send Mail for the e-newsletter you no longer wish to receive.
  4. Click on Submit Changes.
