Module 2- World Wide Web and Internet Communications
Lesson 7 Index - Email
Section 10 - Summary

In this lesson, you have learned the basic way in which email works. You have learned the parts of an email address and the domain name associated with your St. Edward's e-mail address. You have also learned what a mail server is and the name of the mail server used by St. Edward's students.

In addition, you learned the difference between Web-based email and client-based email. Web-based email is an email account that is accessed through a Web browser. Client-based email such as a POP3 mail server is a server used to store messages until users’ logon and download their mail. An advantage to Web-based email is you can access your email from any computer connected to the World Wide Web.

Lastly, you understand what spam email is.
