| Section 8 - Finding Supporting Details Once your topic is chosen,
focused and refined, it is time to locate and collect information. To be certain
your research is thorough you need to utilize the following:
- Locate books on your research topic on the library's online
catalog.
- Locate periodical articles using the library's online databases and print
indexes.
- Locate statistical sources such as the statistical sources in the reference
collection mentioned previously.
- Track recent and pending legislation. Congressional Quarterly Almanac and
CQ Weekly Reports are two sources for this information, but many other good sources
exist.
- For additional information, you may want to visit some pertinent web sites.
The subject guides found on the library web site often contain links to selected
sites.
**Please keep in mind a significant amount of information offered on the web
is biased and possibly bogus. These issues are addressed in Lesson 4 - Evaluation
of Information and Sources.**
