Section 4 - Display and Hide Toolbars

  • In Word XP and MAC Word 2004, click on the View menu and select Toolbars.
  • Click on the toolbars you wish to display. Currently displayed toolbars will have a checkmark in front of their name.

  • To hide a toolbar, click on the View menu and click on the checkmark next to the toolbar you wish to hide.
  • In Word 2007, the Mini-Toolbar only appears above the text you select and provides quick access to formatting tools.

Display and Hide the Ribbon

In Word 2007, to minimize the Ribbon double-click the name of the tab that is displayed. You can auto display the Ribbon by clicking once on the tab, but it will remain minimized until you double-click the tab again.
