Section 9 - Using Toolbar Buttons to Indent

Using the Increase Indent button :

• In Word XP and MAC Word 2004, select the paragraph you wish to indent and click on the Increase Indent button on the formatting toolbar. 
• In Word 2007, click the Home tab from the Ribbon. Select the paragraph you wish to indent and click the Increase Indent button from the Paragraph group.

The paragraph will indent to the left in 1/2 inch increments.

Using the Decrease Indent button:

• In Word XP and MAC Word 2004, select the paragraph you wish to decrease the left indent for and click on the Decrease Indent button on the formatting toolbar.
• In Word 2007, click the Home tab from the Ribbon. Select the paragraph you wish to decrease the left indent for and click the Decrease Indent button from the Paragraph group.

The paragraph will decrease the left indent by 1/2 inch increments.
